When we examine the foods we eat it is not surprising at all that symptoms of an inflamed heart are so prevalent in western culture and especially in those that are elderly. Once symptoms of this or of any imbalance start to surface there are two basic changes that have to occur in the person's life: 1. A change in diet and 2. a healthy dose of specific medicinal plants that suit the symptoms in question. When these symptoms subside, the medicinal plants change, but the changes in diet stay relatively the same. This is easier said than done because for the elderly, change and adaptation are difficult words to absorb and practice. The focus should always be on prevention and as a society obsessed with beauty and youth, we are far from preventing death and ugliness. Heart Food Healing is an art. It requires unique perspectives in an educated conversation to creatively pull a cure out one's ass. It takes an artist to inspire and spark a hope for a better life and wellness. Imagination is a necessity to art as it is for medicine and use of imagination is needed for this next paragraph. The physiology of a human heart very much resembles the shape and structure of a seed from a plant. On the inside of a seed, there is all that is necessary for the formation of a plant. From this tiny seed expands all other parts of, let us say: a tree. From the centre of the heart, all blood is pumped throughout the body. Both of these structures embody an expanding nature in this regard. The heart is also encapsulated with a thin membrane called a pericardium which feeds and protects the heart organ. Like the pericardium, the outside of a seed, the husk, protects the contents of a seed. This is the most simple way of looking at it and when we look at the things we do to the seeds we eat, it really should be obvious why so many people suffer from symptoms of an inflamed heart. Wheat is probably the most consumed seed in the western world, probably followed by rice. Both of which are stripped of their husk, the protective casing of those seeds. Corn is good though. Anyway, energetically speaking, we are basically eating to feed the centre and discarding that which protects the centre and contributing to the rise of a heart that is prone to many diseases. Most of these diseases are mental in nature because like the mind, the heart resides in the upper part of the body. Without the necessary food to nourish the heart's protective layer both nutritionally and energetically, the heart becomes susceptible to all those toxins that are getting pumped into the air and oceans. So not only have we successfully eliminated our protective friends that filter our air, we have also successfully eliminated the nourishment for the protective forces of our heart and giving rise to illness within the mind. People talking to themselves on the streets, insomnia, dementia, nervousness, stress, and many other serious conditions can all be treated with plant medicine and a proper diet which again, is a very difficult concept to adapt to as you get older and more comfortable relying on the popping of a pill while still eating the same shit you always did. While it is true that an illness which attacks the spirit manifests itself physically through the mind and then emotions first, the opposite is true also. Not eating the right food affects our physical body, then our emotional state, followed by our mental, and then spiritual. Of course, it shouldn't be necessary to make an extensive list of all the symptoms of an inflamed heart at this point because it should be clear already. Any mental abnormalities are treated with plant medicine by healing the heart. However, there is one easy way of telling whether a person has an inflamed heart and that is the appearance of a red tip on ones' tongue. So eat those sprouted seeds and be strong enough to say no to processed foods. Stay away from inhaling toxins, eating micro-portions of metals by cooking in pots, and eat only a plant-based diet.

As we transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, we need to remember a few basic things in order to adapt, evolve to our fullest capacity, and take advantage of both a passing age and the transition itself which is underway. These changes that are inevitable and how we adapt to them not only reflect in our daily interactions with people at work and home but our interaction with ourselves through diet and lifestyle. Pisces is a set of two fish chasing each others tails, forever in motion; the healthiest state to be in, never stagnating. They live underwater, the plane of intuition, emotions, feelings, and freedom. It is the Age of Pisces which embodies freedom because a fish in their environment, which is water, can swim in any direction. Unlike land, where man is subject to gravity. It is through knowledge of maps and the use of technology that he can easily decide where he needs to go and what the best way is to get there in the shortest amount of time (Time being another very aquarian restriction, unlike in water, where fish can swim impressively fast in any direction, embodying freedom). Although Aquarius is a human, she holds an urn of ever-flowing water; forever nourishing those in need with plenty to sustain herself. Although yes, water is intuitive, Aquarius is not a water creature, just a provider of it. Aquarius does not need intuition to survive because Aquarius is human, being able to communicate ancient lessons from generation to generation through words and writings. She also has hands to shape and make use of tools, such as the urn she holds. So what does this mean for our diet then? It is not desirable to give into our cravings at this transitioning time. We are not fully out of the Age of Pisces, hence we have a spark of intuition left to inform us that our bodies are craving something but we're almost at the Age of Aquarius so it is imperative to use skill and knowledge to satisfy that craving from an educated standpoint. It is idealistic to imagine only eating raw-whole-plant based-in season-and local foods in perfect measurements and diversity according to our bodies needs while at the same time staying respectful of natures creatures and being in harmony with it. This vegan-plant based-medicine diet would definitely allow a human to live with optimum health and therefore a long time with beautiful skin, radiant smile, naturally shiny hair, no body odor etc but getting there takes skill and knowledge that is either a) imparted from those who already experienced the transition to this state of being (with emphasis on those because one success story does not impart knowledge for all but many success stories allow easy transformation for one) or b) sheer determination and a willingness for experimentation. There was a time when humanity was free to roam the land, use the bow and arrow, and follow their intuition as to where to migrate next. That time is the Age of Pisces and it has almost fully passed. The Age of Aquarius means we have all this technology at our disposal yes, great, but we must set more limitations on our diet especially to achieve a healthy body. Our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies are all one. It is not hard to look in the mirror and recognize something unhealthy about oneself. It is hard to accept though isn't it? Unhealthy physical attributes reflect mentally whether this fact is accepted or not. This especially displays itself through relationships with others and our engagement with the world. The beauty of plant medicine is that these medicinal plants are all around us. Being vegan not only saves countless of innocent little animal lives but it saves the human choosing to be vegan. Stand up and be strong to end consumption of meat, and be brave enough to eat that dandelion root because that is how the world becomes a better place and humanity evolves. The ancient people of our planet knew the healing power of the touch through massage. There are energetic pathways on the surface of our bodies that are our first line of defense in addition to the inner linings of our lungs. Back then, when religion and medicine were very closely linked together, it was believed that spiritual attacks on our auras could be healed through massage. Only when a sickness on the spiritual plane is ignored does it manifest mentally, then emotionally, and finally: physically. Ideally a massage is suggested whenever there is an imbalance because it promotes the movement of energy in the body. Through the study of Acupuncture, many secrets of health and longevity are learned. One of the most fundamental of these lessons is how energy flows on the outside/inside of our bodies and the many different channels that correlate to our not-too-many organs. Any knots, soreness, or sensitivity felt anywhere on these channels correlates to an organ. This is why it is a good idea to either massage yourself (and with the practise of yoga one can reach any part of the body), or see a massage therapist to aid in the flow of this energy. One last tip that proves to be very useful is this: When showering or taking a bath and using a sturdy but comfortable brush, in a circular motion brush all parts of the body in the direction energy flows as per Acupuncture channel theory. Generally speaking, energy on the front side of the body moves upwards and downwards on the back. The space where the legs join energy flows upwards. From the hips down towards the toes the energy flows down. From the armpit to the palm the energy flows outwards and from the fingernails to the back of the elbow and then shoulder blade energy flows downwards towards the base of the spine. Think that is complicated? The energy of the face is way more intricate but that is why a picture is attached to this blog post. (It's kind of like a puzzle, stare at it for an hour until figured out. It really is like connect the dots. From the smaller to bigger number is how the energy flows. Good luck) Showering cleanses the skin which sheds itself on average every two weeks. With a gentle and firm brush a new aspect to showering can be added; a personal massage. Circular brushing such as this not only promotes the flow of energy but also invigorates the immune system for a perfect defense mechanism and an immaculate well-being. Botanical Name: Chondrus Crispus History: Said to be a native to Atlantic coast lines of the New World, Irish Moss also appears on the western and southern coasts of Ireland. Irish Moss is very rich in a wide variety of nutrients and when simmered produces a very jelly like substance characteristic of many tonifying plants. Throughout history Irish Moss has been combined with many other flavourful plants to inspire people to incorporate it into their diet. It has been combined with cocoa, or with lemon, cinnamon and liquorice, and even made into a tea with milk. It`s time to grow some balls, suck it up, and just eat the bloody seaweed as its plentiful on our coastlines, way too nutritious to ignore, and your body will love you for it. Our planet is 2 thirds ocean so get over the ocean smell and learn to enjoy its refreshing breeze as preserved in this plant: the Irish Moss. Actions, Properties, & Uses: Tonic for the kidneys especially but also the bladder. Very weak demulcent and emollient for the lungs compared to its salty nutritive properties on the kidneys and bladder. It can be made into a decoction or tea but because Irish Moss can be eaten freely, it becomes quite useful when ground up and used to flavour a morning vegan congee. It has a strong oceanic scent though and even stronger of an salty taste but only when taken on its own in large quantaties. Seaweeds in particular have a very harmonizing effect on the immune system; correcting both hypo and hyperglycemia among other beneficial properties specific for this system. Irish Moss and it`s sea-weedy smell strikes quite the amusing reaction amongst some people when they smell it. This is a very strong indication that it is necessary for their bodies because such a shock of a reaction only occurs when that body lacks those particular nutrients. Shock is never a good thing though which is why it is always a wise idea to start incorporating anything new in ones diet in small transitional doses. 1 teaspoon a bowl of porridge to start will prove that it is not as offensive as it seems and can be eventually increased up to 2 tbs or more. Again, Irish Moss can be used freely and is an excellent substitute for salt and far more nutritious. Description: ``Irish Moss, or Carrageen, as it is frequently called, has a root-disk throwing up tufts of many flat, nerveless, slender, cartilaginous fronds, from two to twelve inches in length, subcylindrical at the base, but immediately becoming flat, generally dilating from the base as they ascend, until they become three or four lines wide, and then dividing repeatedly and dichotomously, each division spreading and becoming narrower than the preceding one, and taking place at shorter and shorter intervals : the summits are bifid, the segments linear, wedge-shaped, varying greatly in length, rounded or acute, straight or curved, and often twisted in such a manner as to give the curled appearance denoted in the specific name. Fructification roundish or roundish-oval, subhemispherical. Capsules imbedded in the disk of the frond, prominent on one side, and producing a concavity on the other, containing a mass of minute, roundish, red seeds. Substance cartilaginous, in some varieties approaching to horny, flexible and tough. Color a deep purple-brown, often tinged with purplish-red, and paler at the summit, becoming greenish, and at length white in decay.`` - The American Eclectic Dispensatory, 1854, was written by John King, M.
